Building Our Patients’ Trust, One Visit at a Time

For Justin Washburne, trustworthiness is one of the most important factors in choosing his healthcare providers. “I want to make sure that someone is truly an expert in their field before I trust them to make decisions with my health and my teeth,” Justin said.

Luckily, he found that trust in Dr. Chan three years ago when he first received dental services at Mayfield Smiles.

“I was having some intense tooth pain, so I went to my dentist at the time and they immediately suggested that I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed.  I didn’t trust the diagnosis, so I reached out to Dr. Chan for a second opinion,” Justin explained. “She properly diagnosed the pain I was having in my tooth. After following her recommendations, the pain went away on its own and I didn’t need to have my wisdom teeth removed. I was very happy with that outcome.”

Despite living on the west side of Cleveland, thirty minutes away from Mayfield Smiles, Justin and his wife now visit the office for their regular six-month appointments and cleanings. “To me, it’s worth the distance to travel to get the best care,” he stated.

Because of Dr. Chan’s professionalism and steady, knowledgeable care, he said he’s happy to remain a patient indefinitely.

“Dr. Chan is really able to provide personable interaction and clear diagnoses. She is a great dentist but she’s also able to connect on a personal and individual level. She brings both aspects of that in her dental care which is what I’m looking for.”

Justin also said that he believes Mayfield Smiles is ideal for anyone nervous about medical procedures or dental exams - himself included.  “I would highly recommend that anyone looking for a dentist or anyone who has an issue with their teeth should go to Mayfield Smiles. They have allowed me as a patient to be confident, feel at ease, and relax.”
