About the PolaDay Whitening System

The PolaDay Take-Home Whitening Kit contains a 35% professional-strength whitening solution for daily use.

  • Use once or twice daily for 30 minutes at a time.

  • Do not exceed 45 minutes per session, as this may cause sensitivity.

  • If you have sensitive teeth, begin brushing with a sensitivity toothpaste (like Sensodyne) two weeks before treatment.

  • Stop treatment once you reach your desired results.

Please note: Crowns, fillings, and restorations will not change color with whitening products. Teeth may also appear darker near the gum line and may take longer to lighten.

How to Use Your Whitening Trays

  1. Brush teeth with a sensitivity toothpaste.

  2. Place a small drop of whitening gel into each compartment of the tray (each syringe lasts about 5 days).

  3. Insert tray and ensure gel covers teeth evenly.

  4. Wipe away excess gel with a tissue or soft brush.

  5. After treatment, remove the tray and rinse it with cold water. Rinse your mouth with lukewarm water.

  6. Brush your teeth.

To get the best results:

  • Do not eat, drink, or smoke while trays are in place.

  • Wait at least 2 hours after treatment before smoking.

  • Avoid dark-colored foods and drinks (coffee, tea, red wine) for 48 hours after whitening.

  • Store whitening gel in a cool, dark place at room temperature.

If You Experience Sensitivity

Some patients may feel mild tooth sensitivity during whitening. If this happens:

  • Take a break for 1–2 days between treatments.

  • Reduce the number of whitening sessions per week.

  • Use the Sensodyne Repair & Protect toothpaste provided by our office.

Precautions include:

  • Do not use if pregnant, nursing, or under age 15.

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.

  • Patients with chemical allergies should have an allergy test prior to use.

  • For topical use only. Stop use and call our office if irritation occurs.

First Aid

  • Eye or Skin Contact: Rinse thoroughly with water. If irritation persists, seek medical advice.

  • Accidental Ingestion (large amount): Drink plenty of water or milk and seek medical advice.
